Robert Davi’s tribute to Sinatra on Sirius XM Radio expected to reach millions

LOS ANGELES, CA – In the wake of overwhelming response by national radio listeners to his latest CD, titled “Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance,” actor and recording artist Robert Davi‘s star power to honor the late Frank Sinatra is set to spread globally in a magnanimous way.

Executives at Sirius XM Radio confirmed today they will feature the legendary performer in an international broadcast that will air a total of four times during the week of November 14.

“This is a collection of recordings by Mr. [Frank] Sinatra, as well as some by artists that Frank admired and Robert continues to appreciate,” said program director Lou Simon, producer of Playing Favorites, the hour-long show Davi will host.

“Robert is scheduled to annotate each song with his own distinct view of it, while providing an overview of Sinatra’s unique style and evergreen influences.”

Simon said Davi is also anticipated to play a couple of songs from his inaugural album, which was recorded at Capitol Studios in Hollywood — the same location where Sinatra made musical history. Davi’s haunting interpretation of Sinatra’s music was backed by a full, 30-piece orchestra.

The charismatic actor, famous for such motion picture blockbusters as “Licence to Kill,” and “Die Hard,” in addition to his starring role in the NBC series “Profiler,” first met Sinatra on the set of “Contract on Cherry Street.”

The 1977 made-for-television movie may have been Davi’s introduction to Hollywood, but it was certainly the prolific actor’s association with Sinatra and the sphere of influence Sinatra had over others that helped pave the road for Davi’s new-found fame as a successful recording and musical performing artist.

During the broadcast, dubbed Siriusly Sinatra, Davi is also expected to reveal to listeners some never-before-revealed anecdotes about Sinatra’s infectious character that were unique unto Davi.

Davi’s tribute to Sinatra on Sirius XM Satellite Radio is predicted to be heard in a single hour by a large segment of the radio station’s more than 20 million subscribers worldwide.

“I am so pleased that Robert agreed to host this installment of our series,” added Simon. “He is a knowledgeable and passionate patron of this genre and a worthwhile contributor, as evidenced by his new CD, a lifelong dream fulfilled.”

Radio stations across America began airing slices of Davi’s CD as soon as the critically-acclaimed album was released nationwide in October.

“It takes a fine talent of an actor to understand and project the style of Francis Albert Sinatra,” California’s KSPA/1510AM said in a released statement. “Our audience loves [Robert Davi’s] new CD. They call our request lines wanting to know who the singer was we just played.

“This CD takes us places with these songs we’ve never traveled to before.

Sirius XM Satellite Radio will air Davi’s tribute to Sinatra on Monday, November 14 at 6:00 p.m., with encore broadcasts slated for Tuesday night at 9:00, Thursday morning at 9:00 and on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 in the eastern time zone.
