Robert Davi hit little ol’ Adelaide last night with his show Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance.
Davi’s licence to sing the Chairman’s songs is twofold: 1) like Sinatra, he is an Italian; 2) he was a personal friend of Frank’s. When at high school Davi showed great potential with his voice. He was awarded first place in the prestigious New York State School Music Association’s Solo Competition, and the famed Metropolitan Opera gave him an audition. But he strained his voice. He says, ‘I was a baritone with the heart of a tenor, and I pushed too hard too early’. So instead he took up acting.
